The European Commission is preparing the next Horizon 2020 Work Programme and calls for proposals for 2018-2019-2020. Societal Challenge 5 addresses societal needs and socio-economic priorities by focussing research and innovation activities on:

• achieving a resource efficient and climate change resilient economy and society,
• protecting and sustainably managing natural resources and ecosystems,
• ensuring the sustainable supply and use of raw materials.

For Societal Challenge 5, the budget to be allocated will be around €1 billion. The responsibility is great, and we count on your valuable input for this final programming period.
