Amputees to benefit from advanced prosthetics control

The research, led by prosthetics company Otto Bock and conducted in the AMYO project, may constitute a watershed moment for the prosthetics industry and prostheses users as advanced artificial limbs and control systems make the leap from the lab to real-life applications. The key to the AMYO team’s solution is advanced signal acquisition and processing technologies that use an innovative human-machine interface to provide intuitive, proportional and simultaneous control of prostheses while eliminating the need for some costly components.
